Step-by-Step Video: Setting Up Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Indicator with Set Files 

At this page, you'll find the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© set files alongside the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© corresponding set files, complete with instructions and advice. To see the exact Matrix Arrows that the EA will trade for each symbol and timeframe, ensure you load the correct Indicator set files.

Before configuring your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Indicator, reduce the max bars in chart to 1000 in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Charts. A high setting, such as thousands or millions, can significantly slow the Indicator as it processes 10 standard indicators over so many bars.

Additionally, verify your broker's server time in the Marketwatch window. Since the set files are optimized for ICMarkets GMT+3 servers, you'll need to adjust the trading hours if your broker operates on a different timezone. For instance, if your broker's server time is GMT+0, shift all trading hours 3 hours back as follows: 

Start Hour: 12

Start Minutes: 00

End Hour: 22

End Minutes: 50

you need to change it to:

Start Hour: 9

Start Minutes: 00

End Hour: 19

End Minutes: 50

Notice: When loading the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© with its default settings, the arrows displayed will differ from those the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© uses for trading with each specific symbol set file. It’s recommended to load the appropriate indicator set files as described earlier. 

Warning! If you plan to trade only one set file, you can keep the Risk % per trade at the default 3%. However, for trading a few set files, it’s better to reduce the Risk % to 1%-2%. If you intend to trade all the recommended set files, it’s highly recommended to set the Risk % per trade between 0.5% and 1% per symbol.

Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© Setup Guide

To purchase the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© from the MQL5.com Market, you'll need an MQL5 community account. If you don’t already have one, you can create an account here: https://www.mql5.com/en/auth_register

1. Ensure your MQL5 account has sufficient funds for the purchase. Paying with your MQL5 balance is usually more convenient than using a credit card during the transaction.

2. Locate the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on the MQL5.com website and visit its product page.

3. Click the Buy or Rent button to complete your purchase.

5. Once your payment is successful, open your MT4/5 terminal to download and install the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©.

6. Ensure you’re logged into your MT4/5 terminal using your MQL5 account login, not your email or social media account. For instance, my login is the last segment of my profile URL: eleanna74 from https://www.mql5.com/en/users/eleanna74.

7. Navigate to MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Community tab and confirm you’re logged in with your MQL5 account credentials.

8. Go to the MT4 Terminal window, scroll down, and click on the Market tab. On the left side, select the Purchased option and then click the blue Install button next to your recently purchased product. For MT5, open the Navigator window, locate the Market folder, and click on Purchases. This will open the Purchases window on the right, where you can click the Install button next to the product you just bought. 

Notice: If you can't see your purchase when you click the Purchased option, check the below mentioned issues:

Make sure that:

• that you have all the latest Windows Updates installed

• that you have Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge latest version installed on your computer or VPS

• that you are using the latest build of MetaTrader 4/5

• that you are logged into your MQL5 account in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Community tab, using your login - NOT your email

• that your MQL5 account password is less than 10 characters (if your password is 10 or more characters - change MQL5 account password here)

In case you still don't see the product on the list of your purchases in the terminal, try the following:

1. Close ALL your MetaTrader terminals

2. Go to C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\Community

3. Delete all files starting from mql4.market.* and mql5.market.*

4. Open the MetaTrader terminal

5. Try to install your product again

9. If you'd like to receive notifications about the Matrix Arrow signals, consider setting up email, terminal, and push notifications on your MT4/5 terminal. These notifications will be generated by the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5©, not the EA itself.

10. To do this, go to MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Email tab, and fill in the required details for your email and server to receive notifications. Below, you will find an example of the necessary details and a list of popular email providers with their SMTP settings.

• In the SMTP server field you need to put your email provider’s SMTP address, you can see most of the popular providers below.

• In the SMTP login field you need to put your full email, for example: johnsmith@gmail.com

• In the SMTP password field, you need to put your email’s password.

• In the From and To fields, you need to put your full name a comma and then your email again, for example: John Smith, johnsmith@gmail.com

11. To set up your push notifications, go to MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Notifications tab, and enter your mobile device or tablet’s MQL5 ID. This will allow you to receive push notifications on those devices. You can find your MQL5 ID in the MT4/5 mobile app by navigating to Settings >> Messages.

Alternatively, your MQL5 ID can also be found in your MQL5 account profile under Settings >> Security.

12. To receive Terminal alerts, make sure to check the corresponding option in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Events tab. 

13. To ensure that the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© can function properly and trade using the Matrix Arrow Indicator's signals, both products need to be installed on your terminal. It's highly recommended to load both the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on your chart for a comprehensive view of your trading environment.

Open the desired symbol's chart, then go to the Navigator window on the left side of your MT4/5 terminal. Find the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© under Indicators >> Market and drag it onto the chart (or double-click it).

14. The Indicator’s settings window will appear. Here, you can adjust all the parameters as needed and ensure the notification settings are configured in the Inputs tab. The default indicator parameters are optimized for various market conditions and are ready for immediate use.

15. Once you’ve set up your Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5©, click OK. Remember, the default settings for all 10 indicators are specifically optimized and ready for use on any instrument and timeframe. The Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© will now appear on your MT4/5 terminal. Use your mouse to adjust the height of the Matrix, and you're all set to begin trading with it! 

16. Now, you can add the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to the same chart. You can find it in the Market folder within the Experts section of your Navigator window in the MT4/5 terminal. Drag it onto the chart or double-click it to attach.

17. The Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© window will appear. In the Common tab, ensure that you check the options for Allow Auto/Algo Trading and Allow Modification of Signals. 

18. Next, in the Inputs tab, if you want to trade using the on-chart Trade Panel of the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, set the first Use Panel option to true. Then, change the second Used Indicator setting* to the Matrix Arrow Indicator.

* By default, this is set to Moving Average because, without it, the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© (which must be purchased separately) would be needed for the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to pass the MQL5.com Market validation, which is not technically possible. 

19. If you only wish to trade manually or automatically with the on-chart Trade Panel, no additional settings need to be adjusted. Simply click the OK button, and you're all set to begin.

20. The Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© Trading Panel is now attached to your chart, located just above your Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© Matrix window. You can move it to any preferred location on the chart, typically the top left corner. Once you click the Auto/Algo Trading button on your MT4/5 terminal, you can begin trading. 

Tip: If you notice candlesticks appearing on top of your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, right-click on your chart, select Properties from the menu, go to the Common tab, and uncheck the Chart on foreground option. 

21. To trade manually, choose your desired timeframe and set the basic parameters for your trades. For example, if you want to open trades with a fixed lot size, enter your desired lot size (e.g., 0.10) in the Fixed Lot Size field. To risk a specific percentage of your account per trade, check the Risk % box and input your desired percentage (e.g., 2.0%). Then, you can set your preferred Take Profit, Stop Loss, Break Even, and/or Trailing Stop Loss values. If you want trades to close with an opposite signal when it appears, check the Close by Opposite Signal option. 

22. Now you're ready to open your first manual trade by simply clicking the appropriate Sell by Market or Buy by Market button. Your trade will open, and the Stop Loss and/or Take Profit levels you set in the Trade Panel will appear on both the chart and in the Terminal/Toolbox window. 

23. To trade automatically with the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© Trade Panel, simply set your desired parameters and select the Full Algorithmic Trading option. By doing so, the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© will open a buy trade with each new blue/long arrow signal and a sell trade with every new red/short arrow signal. 

WARNING: The Trade Panel settings cannot be migrated to your MQL5 VPS. To trade automatically in the cloud using the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on the MQL5 VPS, set Use Panel: false and adjust the internal settings of the EA as shown below. After that, click the Auto/Algo Trading button on your MT4/5 terminal to sync and migrate with your MQL5 VPS. 

24. Here’s another option for you. If you want to trade with the provided set files across multiple symbols and don’t wish to use the on-chart Trade Panel, simply attach the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to the relevant instrument's chart and timeframe. Then, open the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© window, click the Load button at the bottom right, and select the appropriate set file. Click the Auto/Algo Trading button on your MT4/5 terminal, and you’re all set to trade 100% automatically. The small EA icon in the top-right corner of your chart will turn green and smiling, indicating that your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© is working correctly.

25. The last step is ensuring that you don't experience any power or network disruptions. You can achieve this by using an MQL5 VPS (virtual private server), which will keep your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5 running on the cloud 24/7 without interruption. 

26. If you haven't yet set up a virtual server for your trading account, simply right-click on your account number in the Navigator window and select >> Register a Virtual Server. 

27. In the Virtual Hosting Wizard window that appears, select the plan that fits your needs and click the Next button. 

28. Once you’ve completed your payment, I recommend ensuring that your MQL5 account has the necessary funds and using the MQL5 payment method available on the left side. 

29. Once your MQL5 VPS purchase is completed, you need to synchronize your trading environment with your virtual server. Right-click on the MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window and select >> Synchronize experts, indicators. 

Notice: Don’t forget to load both the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on each chart before migrating your local setup to the MQL5 VPS. If the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© isn’t loaded, the MQL5 VPS Journal will display an indicator loading error. 

30. After a few seconds, the smiling face of your Expert Advisor will switch to a sad face, and the Auto/Algo Trading button will be turned off. This means that your trading environment has been successfully synchronized with the MQL5 VPS. 

31. To confirm that synchronization was successful, you should check the MQL5 VPS Journal logs. Right-click on your MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window and select >> Journals. 

32. In the Journals logs of your MQL5 VPS, you should look for the following message: 

33. This means that your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© have been successfully synchronized and are now trading in the cloud. 

34. You can now safely close your MT4 terminal and computer, knowing that your Expert Advisor will continue trading 24/7 without interruption. 

35. The only thing left to do every couple of days is check your MQL5 VPS Journal to ensure everything is running smoothly. 

WARNING: Once you've synchronized with your MQL5 VPS, do NOT click the Auto Trading button again in your local MT4/5 terminal, as doing so will result in trading with your Expert Advisor twice, which can be risky.
